What channel search does
Enter a channel and a word or phrase, and the tool searches the transcripts of that channel’s videos for it. Each result shows the video, the matching passage, and its timestamp, so you can find the episode where something was said without watching or searching them one by one.
Good uses
- Podcasts and interview shows: find every episode where a guest, company, or topic comes up.
- Research: check what a creator has said about a subject over time, with links to each moment.
- Fact-checking: confirm whether, and in which video, a quote actually appears.
- Your own channel: locate old videos to link from new ones, or to turn into clips.
Limits to know
- Search runs over the videos an external transcript provider has indexed for that channel. Coverage varies, and very new uploads may not be included yet.
- Only videos with captions can be searched. Music-only or caption-less videos won’t appear.
- Auto-generated captions can misspell names, so try alternate spellings if a search comes back empty.
- Open any match to read, search, or download that video’s full transcript on its own.
