How to Get a YouTube Shorts Transcript
- Open the Short in the YouTube app or browser.
- Select Share and copy the URL. A Shorts link usually includes
youtube.com/shorts/. - Paste the link into the transcript form above and select Get Transcript.
- Search the text, copy it without timestamps, or download an export when captions are available.
Why a Short May Not Have Text Yet
Shorts do not always have captions. The creator may not have added subtitles, automatic captions may still be processing, or the audio may not be suitable for a caption track. This guide retrieves existing captions; it does not invent text for videos without them.
